Roll Up Your Sleeves

and put your hands in the dirt

You can help to grow this garden.

  • Meet people

  • help others

  • make an impact at home and in our community

Volunteers are always welcome, with or without experience. One of our gardeners will show you what to do. There is watering, weeding, new construction, and maintenance to be done. Work session times will be posted on this website. You can sign up to be a regular worker, or just show up. It’s a garden, so plan to get dirty!

It is helpful to our leaders to know that you are coming. You can sign up here.

Together, we’ll cultivate a garden that will teach those with diabetes and heart disease how to live more fulfilling lives.

The Lions Club Connection

Working to reduce the prevalence of diabetes and improve the lives of those living with diabetes is a primary initiative for Lions International.

Prairie Parkway Garden was founded by members of the Cedar Falls Lions Club who saw a need in our community to educate diabetics on how to live more healthy lives through nutrition and exercise.

Prairie Parkway Garden provides a hands-on learning center for those with diabetes, heart disease, and anyone who wants to explore the benefits of healthy eating and living.

Many of our gardeners and leaders are members of the Cedar Falls Lions.
